Beer is one of the most popular drinks in the world. To support that, from a little country as Jamaica, the Red Stripe lager beer has become world renowned. Beer is in general considered a man drink , as for many women the taste is sometimes unpalatable. However, that is not necessary so for all countries, I have come across a beer cocktail that is currently changing all that…

How I came across the french infamous “Monaco”

On a recent trip to France, I was having having a drink with some friends in a small Parisian cafe, with a drink menu oh so long, it was really hard to decide. My friend who has been living in France for a few years propose me to try “the Monaco”.

I have to admit the thought of having beer, no matter the cocktail mix it was, was a bit weird, but being the little adventuress, I gave it a try and have never looked back. It turned out to be one of the most pleasant drink I have ever had and have become my drink of choice, when in France or just when having friends over.

If you are ever in France be sure to try out this beer cocktail “Monaco”. If you are not sure to be in France anytime soon, check out the recipe that I have added just for you!

Recipe to make a ‘Monaco” at home

The idea behind the monaco is pretty simple. All you need is:

  • One bottle of cold Lager Beer e.g. Red Stripe or Red Stripe Lite etc
  • 2 teaspoon of strawberry syrup
  • One glass

Instructions for making the monaco:

Add one to two teaspoon of strawberry syrup to the empty glass. Raspberry favoured syrup is also possible and you can add more or less syrup depending on your preference or taste . Fill the glass to the brim with beer. Voila! Now you have yourself a Monaco. Give it a try and remember to come back and let me know what you think!
